The Matsu Islands, located in the northern Taiwan Strait near Fujian, China, comprise over 30 islands. Legend says the name comes from Mazu, the sea goddess Lin Moniang, who sacrificed herself at sea searching for her father.Historically a strategic military outpost, Matsu still holds war-era relics like the Beihai Tunnel and War & Peace Memorial Park, now blending military heritage with natural beauty.
藍眼淚的神秘魅力 The Mysterious Charm of Blue Tears
「藍眼淚」是夜光蟲（Noctiluca scintillans）受波浪、潮汐或擾動後散發藍色螢光的奇觀。每年4–6月，因閩江營養鹽入海，夜光蟲大量繁殖，夜間海面宛如繁星墜落水中。民間傳說，藍眼淚是媽祖的淚水，守護漁民與旅人，象徵豐收與幸運。
Blue Tears are caused by Noctiluca scintillans, microscopic plankton that emit blue light when disturbed by waves or motion. From April to June, nutrient-rich waters from the Min River spark massive blooms, turning the ocean into a glowing sea of stars.In local folklore, Blue Tears are Mazu’s tears—protecting fishermen and travelers, heralding good fortune.
